Being the president of the Holsteiner Verband, Jan Lüneburg is the successor of Graf zu Rantzau who has been in charge for more than 20 years. Whilst the breeding department of the Holsteiner Verband under the direction of Dr. Thomas Nissen is located in the town of Kiel, the former riding and driving school Elmshorn, well known world-wide through Fritz Thiedemann, is hosting the stallion keeping department and marketing directed by Norbert Boley. There are permanently horses trained and also shown in jumping and dressage by experienced riders. The breeding area of the Verband in Germany is made up of 12 breeding districts.
